Royce Charles

MA, PLPC · Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Some things keep showing up no matter how many times you have tried to move past them. You may understand the pattern and still find yourself falling back into it. Counseling gives us a place to slow that down, understand what is underneath it, and work on what needs to change.

You do not have to have it figured out to start.

Old patterns are loud. They can show up in your relationships, your temper, and the way you talk to yourself when no one else is listening. I have spent more than a decade working in behavioral health, first through psychiatric nursing and now as a counselor. I have sat with people through addiction, crisis, anger, trauma, and some of the hardest periods of their lives.

Those years taught me that the mind and body are closely connected, and meaningful change rarely comes from a quick fix. It starts with slowing things down, getting honest about what is happening, and understanding the patterns underneath it.

How we'll work together.

My approach is grounded in Gestalt therapy. In plain terms, that means we pay attention to what is happening in you right now, not just what happened years ago. When it helps, I bring in practical tools from CBT, so you leave with more than insight. You leave with something you can actually use.

I will be straight with you, and I will always do it with respect. You do not have to perform or have everything figured out before you walk in. You just have to be willing to show up and work honestly. We will take the rest one step at a time.

What I help with.

These are some of the concerns I regularly work with in counseling:

Multigenerational trauma Anger management Substance use recovery Emotional regulation Family patterns Emotional support around cosmetic surgery

Support before and after cosmetic surgery

My background in both behavioral health and nursing also informs my work with clients who are considering or adjusting to cosmetic procedures. Counseling can provide space to explore expectations, body image, motivations, anxiety about the procedure, and the emotional adjustment that may follow. The goal is not to tell you what decision to make, but to help you think through what you are hoping the procedure will change and what the experience means for you.

What sessions cost.

$80 Individual Session
$100 Couples Session

Sessions are private pay, and insurance is not accepted at this time. If cost feels like a barrier, a sliding scale may be available. Just ask. No lengthy explanation is needed.

You do not have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
